  14. I sort of agree with your point, but I don't feel like making
  15. changes in the interface without knowing what if anything standards
  16. say on the issue.  Note that SVR4 (and Solaris2) does *not* act as
  17. you request.  Now, we can be better than SVR4, but that requires
  18. sitting down and thinking about what the various options should
  19. do, and what the output should look like.  It also requires research
  20. into standards and existing implementations.  We don't have time for
  21. this, but would welcome a volunteer to do this.
