- The problem has apparently been traced to a version of the gdbm 1.5 library
- which was compiled with an older version of GCC 2.x.
- Recompiling with gcc 2.3.1 fixed the problem and made the broken databases
- usable again; i.e. their structure appears to be intact.

- If only all problems could be fixed this way... maybe RMS should compile
- GCC a few times with itself, instead of issuing patches? ;-)
