  14. The problem has apparently been traced to a version of the gdbm 1.5 library
  15. which was compiled with an older version of GCC 2.x.
  16. Recompiling with gcc 2.3.1 fixed the problem and made the broken databases
  17. usable again; i.e. their structure appears to be intact.

  19. If only all problems could be fixed this way... maybe RMS should compile
  20. GCC a few times with itself, instead of issuing patches?  ;-)
