  15. I tried to install gnu ld on my RS6000 and compiled gcc 2.3.3 with the 
  16. --with-gnu-ld option so that my C++ linking would be faster.

  18. It doesn't seem to work for me.  I get the error:

  22. I have used LDEMULATION vanilla.

  24. Does anyone know if ld is supposed to work on RS6000s or if perhaps I
  25. did something stupid in the installation?
