- Without commenting on the way it was implemented in GNUS, I would like
- to say that a "trend ... for newsreaders to calculate a Lines: field
- automatically ..." is not a good reason for GNUS to not include it.
- GNUS, as its own newsreader, would have to do a lot of extra work to
- come up with those numbers for the *Subject* buffer. It is much
- simpler to have the number right there in the header. This is in fact
- the very point some of us having been trying to argue with Henry &
- Geoff from the start.
