  13. If the `Garbage collecting...' message appears while editing something
  14. in the minibuffer, the prompt is obscured.  Many times, though, the
  15. prompt is not restored and the user is left thinking that maybe gc
  16. hasn't finished yet.  Pressing editing keys, especially recenter,
  17. restores the prompt and editing in the minibuffer can continue.  If the 
  18. user ignores the gc message and keeps typing blindly, it seems to
  19. restore itself.
