  26. VisionWare's XVision was the first MS-Windows based PC XServer to
  27. licence the XRemote software from NCD.
  28. We make similar claims about the increase in speed over SLIP/PPP
  29. - (its the same protocol and at the host end the same code :)
  30. We use XRemote in-house and for staff to dial into the office.
  31. There are certain types of application which perform _better_ than
  32. others when using XRemote:
  33. Apps which do a lot of line drawing / textual operations are fine
  34. because many of the messages are similar and the redundancy can be 
  35. stripped out.
  36. Apps which use a lot of imaging - eg sending of big bitmaps, perform
  37. less well because all the data has to squeeze thru the serial line.
