  20. That's weird. I've received a couple of letters to the mailing list 
  21. during the last months. Are sure your mailsystem is set up properly?
  22. If I read visual.com's MX record right, you want to be contacted
  23. through relay[12].uu.net. If your outgoing mail takes the same
  24. route, there should be no problem to get mail through to us.

  26. Anyways, here's the status of emu.
  27.  
  28.     - It started out as a PCS project in '90 with Jordan
  29.       Hubbard, Tom Bagli and me working on it.
  30.  
  31.     - The project later was canceled and we were allowed
  32.       to give it out for free. We continued work in our
  33.       own time.
  34.  
  35.     - We put it on the R5 contrib tape but didn't have
  36.       support for very many machines ready that's why
  37.       we called it alpha.
  38.  
  39.     - Tom and Jordan left PCS last year but Jordan and
  40.       I are still working on emu although neither of
  41.       us can spend much time on it since we are highly
  42.       occupied by our normal work.

  44.     - I want to get out a new release since summer last
  45.       year that mainly has support for more OS-dependant
  46.       pty implementations but haven't managed to do it
  47.       yet for lack of time and Jordan's hope to get the
  48.       SUN pty stuff to work properly under all circumstances.

  50. As is, it works quite fine for SYSV or POSIX systems, I'm using 
  51. emu every day as my default terminal emulator. With it's built
  52. in "lean and mean" emu emulation it's even smaller than the
  53. old xterm and I like the blinking text and cursor (ok, enough
  54. advertising ;-)

  56. So if anybody is REALLY interested in the new stuff and is willing
  57. to spend some time with the code as is (we especially could need
  58. help on the pty side for SUNs, since Jordan is quite frustrated
  59. already and starts to doubt his programming skills ;-), I could
  60. send out the code by mail. I don't want to put it on export,
  61. however, until I've got it cleaned up better.
