  12. I'm somewhat of a novice at x-window programming and am looking for some help
  13. in installing a grayscale colormap.  I was able to do this successfully on
  14. one configuration, but am having trouble on a second configuration.

  16. I create a colormap with a visual of depth = 8.  However, I am unable to
  17. XStoreColor all 256 color cells.  On one configuration I can, on the other
  18. I cannot.  If the depth =8 on both, what is the difference?  It looks like
  19. I am not able to set 32 of the colors.

  21. I originally tried to use a standard grayscale colormap, but the
  22. XGetStandardColormap call fails.

  24. Any help would be appreciated.
