- The biggest comaplaint I've had with ctwm (In my uneducated opinion - I
- don't use it) is it's inabilityy to have non-ctwm backgrounds on your
- screen. You can put one up, but it disappears as soon as you change rooms.
- There's probably -rc options to correct this, but since I don't use it, I'm
- really not interested in what they are.
-
- I've been using vtwm for the past N months (4<N<15), and for the most part
- it works pretty nice. A few things that bug me about it - the damn virtual
- desktop won't work the way you'd expect it to. If you click on a window in
- the virtual desktop to move it, it warps the window so the pointer is at the
- top left corner. Ditto with the root window (on the VD). I had a patch to
- fix this, but it crashed when I tried recompiling with a distributed patch
- set, so I ditched mine and haven't done anything on it in a while. The other
- thing that bugs me (and should be fairly easy to fix) is to have outlines of
- windows that are being moved on the VD (ala tvtwm or olvwm). Uncommenting
- out one line in the source *almost* works, but crashes when you try to move
- the root (referencing the parent of it, if I remember correctly).
- Stayup menus (found in tvtwm) would be another nice feature, probably could
- be done by case-and-paste without too much pain.
-
- I think I've gotten away from the original intent of this post (if there
- ever was one), so I'll cut it short before I start babbling...
