  13. How can I set the virtual root window to a color image under TWM?
  14. Ssetroot understands X bitmaps and that's it.  I switched from
  15. twm to piewm and lost the ability to put a gif in my root window.

  17. I especially recommend this gif; it's a fractal image with extreme
  18. depth of focus.  Looking at it between windows causes your eyes
  19. to change depth of focus, which helps prevent eyestrain.
