- I've added an extra 300M of HD space so I figured I'd rebuild X11R4 from
- scratch.
-
- Everything looks good, I'm using gcc v2.3.1, SunOS v3.5, and I changed
- the -O to -O2 in the Makefile.
-
- Anyway I run a Sun 2/120 as a central server, and run a Sun 2/50 as a client
- and everything USED to work, now all of a sudden when I start putting a
- load on the 2/50 (X11R4 server) and/or start several clients on the 2/120
- I get this stupid
-
- XIO: fatal IO error 32 (Broken pipe) on X server "unix:0.0"
- after 2165 requests (2155 known processed) with 0 events remainging.
- The connection was probably broken by a server shutdown or
- KillClient.
-
- xinit: connection to X server lost
-
- BTW, right before I get this I start seeing...
-
- nifty% NFS server egf-bbs not responding still trying
- NFS server egf-bbs ok
-
- It just occured to me that the ethernet card (ie0) and the third disc
- controller (xy0) are physically adjascent, and share the same P2 bus.
-
- Is this more likely a hardware or software problem?
-
- (I'm afraid I've changed both since things worked well).
-
- Thanks,
-
- Mike
