- Hi-
- Is there an equivalent way to invoke a login shell, like xterm -ls,
- when using xvt (the stripped down xterm written by John Bovey,
- available at export.lcs.mit.edu:/contrib)? We use Mac ][ci's with MacX
- servers and the OLVWM3.3 window manager client. It works rather well,
- except the xterm windows much too frequently go blank when switching
- virtual screens and/or iconifying the windows. So there is a bug
- *somewhere* (MacX1.1.7,OLVWM,xterm); rather than trying to track it
- down, I've yet to find xvt1.0 show the same flaw in this environment.
- I really don't need all the bells/whistles of xterm, but I do need a
- way to open an xterm-like window initially from MacX that acts as a
- login shell.
-
- Are there any simple/clean solutions?
-
- Thanks,
- Mark
-
- P.S. Our installation has the X11R4 xterm distributed along with
- OpenWindows.
