- I've an Orchid Prodesigner IIHCs SVGA video card and am using Xmach.
- The pen-ultimate clock speed on the card of 65MHz gives a good but
- not optimal refresh rate. However, the top speed of 80MHz causes
- picture break-up (picture is viewable, but vertical lines are jagged.)
- This does not happen under DOS. I've seen mention of others with
- high clock speed cards having the same problem and having to resort to
- running some DOS utility under merge to adjust something in the card
- which causes in to stop. Although my monitor only has a bandwidth of
- 80MHz, that's not the problem as I've been reliably informed by someone
- with a 120MHz bandwidth monitor that they get the same effect using the
- 80MHz clock onboard the card. It would seem to be something to do
- with VRAM accesses. Anyone any ideas how this can be fixed? Will
- XFree fix it?
- Thanks in advance.
