  13. There is a possible conflict between the default port number for
  14. the font server (7000) and other services.  According to the
  15. "Assigned Numbers RFC" from the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority,
  16. 7000 conflicts with the ports listed as being registered to the Andrew File
  17. System, which is part of OSF/DCE.  It seems to me that this might cause  
  18. conflict on systems using both DCE and a font server.

  20. I realize that the font server port is configurable, but it seems to me that
  21. the default should avoid confrontation.  Is this a problem, or am I making
  22. a mountain out of a molehill?

  24. While we're at it, shouldn't the X server port (6000) also be registered
  25. here?
