- We have an Irwin 40Mb tape streamer attached to our xenix machine. I wish to
- use backup or dump to take security copies of the filesystems, but am unsure
- of the correct "magic" numbers for the size and density options. We wish
- to use 40Mb and 60Mb (half as long again) for this purpose but have found
- that the utility quits on reaching end of tape. We dump to /dev/rctmini and
- I have checked the files in /etc/default directory for details for the
- relevant options. I have found a tape sizeof 37500 with blocking 20
- mentioned in the file archive, but get the same problem using this size.
- The actual tape lengths are 205ft (4o Mb) 307.5ft (60 Mb). Please could
- some kind sole give me the required option parameters for dumping to these
- mini data cartridges.

- Many thanks
- Bill

- I apologise if this has come up before in this newsgroup, but I have only just
- taken on resposibility for backing yup these systems and therefore have not
- subscribed to this group before.
