- Since I upgraded to SCSI drives and the Adpetec 1542B Controller, my system
- CRASHES 2X per day!, and I have been unable to determine why or how this
- is happening. Please, if you have seen something like this -or- have an
- idea as to what else to try, let me know.
-
- PROBLEM
- The system crashes giving the following error message about 1-2 times
- per day.

- TRAP 0000000E in SYSTEM, error code=00000000

-
- kernel: PANIC: non-recoverable kernel page fault
-
- BACKGROUND
-
- The system is used for public distribution of news and mail as well
- as having 4 dialin lines for shell access. Uptime is a concern. It
- seems if the crash happens during times of heavy disk activity - but
- that could be just my 'thinking'
-
- CONFIGURATION
-
- The following is the startup under XENIX 2.3.4 from SCO for the
- system ncoast:

- Again, if you have any ideas as to what I need to look at or change, please
- drop me a note. We ar using all good parts, conditioned power via a Triplet,
- and have tried almost every combination on the motherboard BIOS. The harddrives
- are not defined in Bios as the Adaptec SCSI controller eliminates the need
- for that. I have tried to use scsicntl to check the configuration of the
- Adaptec 1542B with scsicntl and have been unable to correctly use it.
-
- Thank you in advance. As this is a news hub for several local systems, PLEASE
- let me know if you have ideas.
