- Nothing has to be linked into the kernel for floppy support. To re-create
- the floppy devices, you can login as "root" and enter the following command:

- # /etc/fixperm -cs -d RTS /etc/perms/inst

- This will create the "special" device files in the RTS package, and among
- them are your floppy devices. You could also read the fd(HW) manual pages,
- which tells you how to go about creating the device files.

- BTW, the "mkdev fd" command doesn't create floppy devices for you -- it
- creates a bootable/rootable disk (set) so that you can bring your system up
- from floppies in case of emergency.
