- I am going to be going onsite to take a look at this problem and see if I
- can rectify it at 1800 EST, Friday January 8th. Therefore:
-
- If you see this after that time, don't bother replying.
- If you see this _before_ that time, and have an answer, please MAIL it, so
- that I will get it faster.
-
- A friend of my family (former classmate's father) is trying to call in from
- his house to work. Both ends are running Xenix. Both ends have Hayes 2400
- modems. The Hayes at work will not auto-answer. One of the wizards he had
- in said that "something in the operating system" is missing. My guess is
- that it's the Xenix equivalent of /etc/gettytab.
-
- I am _not_ a Xenix user, but I know my way around Unix. I'm also not a
- Hayes user, but I know my way around the Hayes command set.
-
- So, the question is: What do I need to know, and do, to make a Xenix box
- realize that it's got a Hayes hung off it, and tell the Hayes to auto-answer?
-
- Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated, even if you're telling
- me something you're sure I'd figure out on my own.
-
- [He also has trouble getting his F-keys to work remotely, but that's an
- application problem, and I don't do application problems. ;)]
-
- Thanks in advance,
-
