- Yes sir!
-
- I have a VS2000 with 6 MB RAM and an RD54. I did a base installation of
- Ultrix 4.2 - just a bare bones Unix with BASIC installation set, the
- Comm Utilities subset and the kernel config files.
-
- I also managed to install the complete X11R5 core installation (no
- contrib, the basic MIT clients, a display server, headers, libs) and
- still had room to spare on the disk (24 MB) to put some useful GNU
- stuff - like bash.
-
- To build X11R5 - I NFS mounted a larger disk from a nearby DECStation.
-
- If you want the X11R5 binaries, I can arrage to FTP to them to you to
- spare you the TWO AGONIZING days of compiling.

-
- BTW- I run few local processes on the VS2000 ; I use a 16" mono display
- which is quite crisp and does the job of a sluggish XTERM rather well.
