  16. "truss" was originally developed independently of "trace"; it didn't
  17. emerge from the AT&T/Sun collaboration.  It may have picked up stuff
  18. from "trace" as a result of the collaboration, but if Ron Gomes got the
  19. idea from Sun, he got it before the Sun and AT&T engineers started
  20. formally talking....  (Note that Sun weren't the ones to come up with
  21. the original idea, either....)
