  11. I have heard that tar might be able to store its output across volumes.

  13. In my case I'm looking for a way to archive an entire partition to 
  14. a floppy device.  This floppy will obviously fill up long before the
  15. tar is done.  Is there a way to get tar to continue on the next installed
  16. floppy volume.  It seems there would be a bit of a problem with sync.
