  11. I have a 2.2 Meg file that when compressed (ncompress version 4.2.4,
  12. newest) is 777k, but when zipped (zip 1.9, newest) is only 340k.  The
  13. file is an ISAM key file.

  15. I am surprised that the zip is half the size of the compress file.  The
  16. file has alot of nulls in it, if that is important.  I know that someone
  17. posted that pre 4.2 version compress'es did bad compression with alot of
  18. nulls, but he said the new version, ncompress, had fixed that.

  20. Any ideas why or when this happens?  Are there ftp-able documents
  21. outlining this?
