  22. Although the analogy is unfair, the Novell/USL situation reminds me of a
  23. a movie I saw recently. An young director wanted to make a quality movie,
  24. but the only people he could get to finance it were rich business men
  25. who just wanted their talentless girlfriends to be the star.

  27. I'm afraid of Novell making its girlfriend, NetWare, the star of the show
  28. at the expense of UNIX technology. The money-men in the movie insisted on
  29. plot changes to suit their mate's idea of an ideal leading role. So too,
  30. I fear what Novell may do to UNIX to promote its star child.

  32. I think we may see "making UNIX better and more popular" transformed
  33. into "using UNIX to make NETWARE better and more popular".

  35. BTW, I in no way wish to imply NetWare is 'talentless' (I said the analogy
  36. was weak!), it's just not UNIX, and it has a rich boyfriend.

  42. over the little guys :-)!
