- ISC v 2.2.1
-
- Over the weekend I talk the first faltering steps toward getting SLIP up
- and running on the home machine. This morning, the box is showing signs
- of ill health.
-
- If uugetty is enabled on /dev/ACU1, X will not init correctly. It dies
- with a "no more proecesses" error. The number of other gettys running
- doesn't appear to have any effect.
-
- If I bring up X, and then spawn a uugetyy from an xterm, X goes into a
- brain dead state. It will acknowledge the keyboard but not the mouse.
- Given that I'm running uwm (twm *still* won't accept keybaord input) this
- means I need to reset the box to loosen things up.
-
- Two Questions:
-
- 1) has anyone seen this behavior before ? what is likely to have changed to
- have caused the problem ?
-
- 2) assuming that it may be time to get a current version of the software,
- what is the current best price and/or upgrade policy for ISC ?
-
- Thanks much,
-
- Jack
