- have been very successful, but that was because they had the right and
- unique product at the right time, without competition (there were
- virtually no graphical environment alternatives available). But what
- can make you so sure they can stand some real competition, now that
- much more mature and longer OS like Unix. It took them years to mature
- ms-windows, and windows/NT shall be just the same disaster in the
- beginning. They will be years too late now that UNIX is penetrating
- the PC market. And for unix X11 is the standard. However it wouldn't
- be difficult to implement ms-windows look and feel (and API if you
- need) for X11, for those that can't do without.
