- I'm fairly new to both the Internet and 386BSD and have been reading this
- newsgroup for a while now. I'm very interested in setting up a 386BSD
- system but have a couple of problems...
-
- There seem to be thousands of patches (which on it's own is no problem),
- but from some of the news articles it seems that some of these have to
- be removed for other things to work! If you havn't been following the
- development from the beginning how do you know which ones to apply and
- which ones not to apply?
-
- A while ago (before my interest really developed) there was some talk about
- a distribution on CD-Rom, consisting of 386BSD, X, source, etc.
- Does this exist, what exactly does it contain, and how do I get hold of it?
- If not, what other media options are available? (at present ftp is
- not a valid option!)
-
- In one of the 386BSD files (I think it's INSTALL.NOTES) it mentions a
- book detailing the development of the system. Does this exist yet? and
- how do I get hold of this, if not is there an easy way of getting hold
- of all the right issues of DDJ (bearing in mind i'm in the UK).
-
- I'm sorry if this shouldn't have been posted here, or is a bit tedious
- to the people who are discussing the internals of the kernel...but you
- have to start somewhere!!
-
- Thanks,
-
- Lee Essen.
