  10. Ref.tfs.com automatically chroots guest users into a totally
  11. self contained environment.

  13. As part of moving 386bsd into gcc2.x, this environment
  14. has been switched to be running (mostly) gcc2.3.3 compiled
  15. utilities. The default compiler is now gcc2.3.3 and
  16. most programs guests run are 2.3.3 compiled. The 'real'
  17. environment is still the original binaries, so the system is still
  18. bootable with old binaries.

  20. The kernel tree has not yet been patched for 2.3.3 however that is
  21. being organised now. complete conversion to gcc2.3.3 will
  22. probably occur this weekend.

  24. what this means to you:
  25.  
  26. if you login (as yourself or as guest) you will be running 2.3.3 compiled
  27. binaries (except for those supplied from elsewhere)
  28. if you compile anything, you will be compiling it under gcc2.3.3.
  29.  
  30. If you have supplied a package to ref, you may like to
  31. come and see if it can be compiled correctly
  32. under gcc2.3.3 (and try install and run it)
  33. I can't possibly test everyone's packages..

  36. 386bsd distribution compiling under 2.3.3!
