  11. I compiled XFree86 on my 386BSD machine about 1 month ago and it all
  12. worked great.  But about a week ago, things stopped working.

  14. When I start X the screen goes to graphics mode, without clearing the
  15. screen, and just sits there.  The server process stops and eventually
  16. the STAT (from ps -aux | fgrep X) is IE (stopped for over 20 secs and
  17. trying to exit).  I've tried starting X with 'startx', 'xinit' and
  18. 'X :0'.  I've also done an 'xinit >& xinit.output' to see xinit's
  19. output, but nothing is wrong.

  21. Now, the only thing that I've changed on my system is that I bought a
  22. new Logitech mouse (same port, /dev/com1).  Has anyone seen similar
  23. behaviour, and if so, how did you fix it?
