- I compiled XFree86 on my 386BSD machine about 1 month ago and it all
- worked great. But about a week ago, things stopped working.
-
- When I start X the screen goes to graphics mode, without clearing the
- screen, and just sits there. The server process stops and eventually
- the STAT (from ps -aux | fgrep X) is IE (stopped for over 20 secs and
- trying to exit). I've tried starting X with 'startx', 'xinit' and
- 'X :0'. I've also done an 'xinit >& xinit.output' to see xinit's
- output, but nothing is wrong.
-
- Now, the only thing that I've changed on my system is that I bought a
- new Logitech mouse (same port, /dev/com1). Has anyone seen similar
- behaviour, and if so, how did you fix it?
