- Summary: Copying a mac file to AU/X makes a file bigger than it is?
- Lines: 15
-
- The FAQ is very specific about moving files from A/UX to mac but
- doesn't mention what to do in the other direction. I have a binary
- file which I set to type bin and moved the icon over to AU/X. The
- size reported by Get Info is the same for both files. I ran a file
- compare on the mac side which reported that the files were the same.
- If I do a ls on the AU/X file it lists the size as 401 bytes bigger
- than Get Info shows. The file is actually a .Z and reports an error
- (saying its not a compressed file) when I try to uncompress it. It
- appears to have some junk at the beginning (dare I guess 401 bytes
- worth?)
-
- Is there a way to avoid this? Is there a way to fix it after the fact?
