- I have a Mac SE/30 running A/UX 3.0. I've been trying to get it to use
- a Farallon PhoneNet ethernet card in my PDS slot. I used newconfig
- to add the modules as, nfs, cslip, and snd. I used the verbose mode
- for newconfig and it found two devices for which it didn't have drivers
- (I didn't remember to copy these numbers down). It also didn't list ae
- as one of the modules loaded at the end of the newconfig process.
-
- After rebooting it tried pinging a local host on my network and it said
- "network unreachable". Then I did a "netstat -i" and discovered that the
- only networks we lo0, sl0 and sl1- NO ethernet!
-
- My questions:
- Did I miss something when I newconfig'd the kernel?
- Do I need to do something afterwards to get the ethernet to show up?
- Does the PhoneNet card ever work with the apple ethernet driver?
- (If not is there a driver available for it?)
-
- System info:
- SE/30
- 8 meg ram (20 meg swap)
- 220 meg external disk with all A/UX partitions (including MacPartition)
- Farallon PhoneNet ethernet card in PDS slot
- 40 meg internal disk with MacOS stuff on it
-
- Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.
