  14. I have problems with the commands ping, ftp and telnet under AUX 3.0.
  15. When I invoke one of these commands, it takes several minutes before
  16. the machine really does connect to another machine, This is so regardless
  17. of whether I use a symbolic name or a numeric ip address. With the help
  18. of a sniffer I could see that name server access is as fast as one could
  19. expect. The time is spent after the command knows the numeric ip address.
  20. This is my first contact to AUX, but on other UNIX machines all commands
  21. react spontaneously when you use a numeric ip address.
