- Subject: Paging spaces fill - How to fix?
- Lines: 28
-
- We had a strange problem yesterday on our 550, 128MB memory, 3 48-MB
- paging disks.
-
- When we killed most processes (incl. the X-Server), lsps -a told us that
- 80-90% of each paging disk was being used.
-
- If we started a user program (CFD simulation), we'd get the message: KILLED.
-
- We had to reboot to "reclaim" paging space.
-
- Questions:
- 1). Has anyone seen "leaky" behavior with the X-Server (I seem to remember
- this from a recent thread)?
- 2). Is there a way to "clean up" paging space disks w/o rebooting?
-
- Thanks for any help. Please reply directly, or to this group if you prefer.
