  13. I'm trying to get a directory from a tape that is labelled as being
  14. "CPIO format" via the following command lines:  (label yields no
  15. clues as to density)
  16.  
  17.    cpio -i -vt < /dev/rmt0.2 # rewind, retension, high density
  18.    cpio -i -vt < /dev/rmt0.6 # rewind, retension, low density
  19.  
  20. Both commands generate the message:

  22.    cpio: 0511-032 Cannot copy from the diskette.

  24. I am working on an RS/6000 running AIX 3.1 that has no manuals, no
  25. man pages and an empty InfoExplorer database.  So I'm relying upon a
  26. combination of AT&T System V manuals and the O'Reilly UNIX series that
  27. details AIX differences.  :-)
