- Hi,
-
- I would like to know if there is a detailed
- procedure, as to how to set up a modem on a
- RS/6000 350 workstation with AIX 3.2 , and
- enable it to receive calls from my personal
- computer at home. I try dialing the number
- and PROCOMM does not get thru, it hangs up
- with the message NO CARRIER.
-
-
- Meanwhile, on my workstation I see some error
- messages like:
-
- 3004-031 Write timed out - possible noise on port
- 3004-019 TSM encountered an error on terminal "/dev/tty0"
-
- INIT: Command respawning too rapidly. Check for possible errors
- id: tty0 "/etc/getty /dev/tty0"
-
- Further more, to complicate matters for me,
- I am succesfully able to call out to other computers,
- like a library database; but to no avail...my
- Workstation is not able to answer a phonecall.
- HELP!
- e-mail: daniel@newton.baruch.cuny.edu
- voice: 212-447-3047 <-- I would like to speak
- to someone who succesfully has done, and documented
- this procedure.
