- I'm having trouble using 8mm tapes on an Exabyte 8500 tape drive that were
- previously written to with an Exabyte 8200 tape drive on a Sun SPARC.
- Essentially, all previously written tapes are only capable of being written
- to in low density (~2.5GB), while brand new tapes can be written to in
- high density (~5.0GB). The SPARC is running SunOS 4.1.1. The device is
- /dev/nrst8. The command is dump. I also made changes to /usr/sys/sundev/
- streg.h as recommended by Exabyte.
-
- Any help would be appreciated. I'd hate to buy all new tapes :-).
