  12. Well the problem seems to be that the DECstation does not like the ethernet
  13. address of our rs6000.  A 'ping ibm' followed by 'arp ibm' returns:

  15. ibm (147.125.1.17) at (incomplete)
  16.  
  17. The rest of machines on the subnet (suns, hp's, sgi, dg) all experience no
  18. difficulty in resolving the ethernet address.

  20. Using tcpdump I can see the arp request go out when the ping is entered and
  21. the arp reply return the address correctly as:

  25. Is there something strange about the ethernet address?
