- Does anyone know of a decent batch processing software.
-
- I need to submit a variety of batch jobs in a variety of queues. Quite often
- inexcess of 200 jobs will be submitted into a single queue at a time.
-
- Submitting then as background jobs will just cause unix to execute then one after
- another. killing unix and the database server. In addition the order that they are
- completed and printed at can not be guaranteed.
-
- I can submit then under the at/batch commands. However batch appears to only allow
- for a single queue and I need several. At can allow for a number of queue's but the
- earlest it can start executing a job is now+1 minute, whereas if I submit a job to
- a queue and the queue is empty then it must start executing straight away.
-
- Is there any way I can get at/batch to work the way I need, or can anyone suggest
- some third party software?
-
- With thanks
- barryl
