  13. Over the last couple of lunch breaks, I've established an experimental gopher
  14. with the following feature: you can retreive small GIF image samples of most
  15. of the internet-available PostScript and MetaFont fonts.  I had the images
  16. lying around (more or less) so I thought I'd set this thing up and see what
  17. people think.

  19. The gopher is at ibis.cs.umass.edu, port 70.

  21. This is a very experimental thing so it may or may not be up at any given time
  22. (though it's _usually_ up right now).  If it becomes too resource consumptive,
  23. it'll have to go.  But I am hoping for some feedback so please try it and let
  24. me know what you think (if you're interested in fonts at all).

  26. If anyone who maintains a more permanent gopher would like to put this service
  27. up locally, let me know and I'll arrange to get the images and directories to
  28. you.
