- Hello, all. I'm currently writing a thesis in LaTeX that uses a great
- deal of equations. In a couple of instances, I would like to present a
- group of equations together, with related equation numbers. Say I've
- used the equation environment to number my first three equations 1, 2,
- and 3. Suppose that I would like to number the next group of related
- equations 4a, 4b, and 4c and then go on with 5, 6, 7, ... for the
- following equations.
-
- Does LaTeX support such flexible equation numbering? Is there any way
- to do this short of manually typing in these numbers (which of course
- would disrupt LaTeX's automatic numbering feature)? I appreciate any
- suggestions you could offer.
