- I tried defining \@textbottom to void out box 255 just before \@makecol
- in altnline.sty just to see if that would remove the error message
- (not a final solution since \raggedbottom should be available).
- In the TeXbook, p. 255 no less, Dr. Knuth says:
-
- When your output routine is finished, \box255 shoul be void. In other
- words, you must do something with the information in that box; it should
- either be shipped out or put into some other place.
-
- In TeX for the Impatient, p. 85, Paul Abrahams, et. al., says:
-
- From \TeX 's standpoint, it doesn't matter whether or not the output
- routine ships out a page; the only responsibility of the output routine
- is to process \box255 one way or another.
-
- Their comments suggest that voiding out box 255 should work. What is the
- most efficient way to void out a box? How is \voidb@x used?
- These questions have lower priority than the previous questions I had since
- I can keep hitting the Enter key and TeX will just dump what's there.
