- I like the approach suggested by Frame posted to list earlier. I tried
- it and have a problem aligning the text. If the approach is used as in
- the letter example, it is faily straight forward. But, say that the
- master page contained the first part of the salutation "Dear " and we
- wanted to import only the first name "Jim" (still written as a separate
- line in the file as before, so no reuse of first name in the addressee
- line). We the get the problem of creating a column in which the text
- (first name) is aligned with the text of the salutation ("Dear ").
-
- The problem can figuratively (for those not having decoded the mailmerge
- document) be desribed as follows:
-
-
- !------------------! The layout shows a large text column
- ! Line 1 ! containing the text: Line1, Line 2,...
- ! Line 2 !---! ! and a second text column containing
- ! Line 3 !abc! ! the text: abc
- ! Line 4 !---! !
- ! Line 5 !
- !------------------!
-
- Now the question is, how do I ensure that "abc" is aligned with "Line 3"?
