  12. I have an old TRS-80 Model 1 with cassette tapes.  I would like to
  13. keep this system well-preserved so that 50 years from now I can
  14. show it off as a working antique computer.  I am concerned about
  15. deterioration of data on cassette tapes.  Is there a good way to
  16. back up these tapes?  I would perfer a method whereby the computer
  17. reads the data and makes a fresh recording on a new tape (as opposed
  18. to tape-to-tape recording, which would carry forward any deterioration
  19. thus far).

  21. The tapes I have contain a mixture of machine-code programs (loaded
  22. via the "system" command) as well as BASIC programs (loaded via the
  23. "cload" command).
