- We are ordering a SUN SPARCstation 10 Model 54 for our scientists
- and would like suggestions from anyone. We will be using the
- SUN for Genetic database searches (e.g. IntelliGenetics Suite, etc.)
- [basically large (+1 gig) databases).
-
- This is what I've done so far:
-
- SPARCstation 10 Model 54 w/ 4 Super SPARC processors
- GX 8-bit Accelerated 2-D/3-D Color Graphics
- 19" Monitor
- 128 Mbyte memory
- 4-Gbyte SCSI
- 3.5 Floppy drive
- Solaris 2.x (media and docs)
- SunCd Pack
- Online DiskSuite Software (CDROM)
- Sun Database Excelerator
- NetWare SunLink
-
- As I said before, I need this to be a *very* fast database machine and
- any suggestions would be helpful.
-
- Thanks,
-
