  13. I work with two Suns which are attached to modems: a SparcII hooked to a
  14. Telebit T1600 and an old Sparc VME cage hooked to a T2500.  When I try to,
  15. say, download some files with Zmodem (though spoofed Ymodem has the same
  16. problem) I get bad packets and timeouts like crazy.  On the SparcII every
  17. sixth 1K packet gets mangled, and on the old sparc it's every 13th packet.
  18. Without fail.  If I require that each packet be individually ACKed, things
  19. work and the transfer slows to glacial speeds.  Both machines are unloaded.
  20. This suggests to me that a buffer somewhere is filling and flow control is
  21. breaking down.

  23. Is there any way to get a high speed transfer out of these machines?  If it
  24. helps, at home I have a Worldblazer, but I never have any other problems
  25. with it.
