- I work with two Suns which are attached to modems: a SparcII hooked to a
- Telebit T1600 and an old Sparc VME cage hooked to a T2500. When I try to,
- say, download some files with Zmodem (though spoofed Ymodem has the same
- problem) I get bad packets and timeouts like crazy. On the SparcII every
- sixth 1K packet gets mangled, and on the old sparc it's every 13th packet.
- Without fail. If I require that each packet be individually ACKed, things
- work and the transfer slows to glacial speeds. Both machines are unloaded.
- This suggests to me that a buffer somewhere is filling and flow control is
- breaking down.
-
- Is there any way to get a high speed transfer out of these machines? If it
- helps, at home I have a Worldblazer, but I never have any other problems
- with it.
-
- Thanks!
