  14. We have a vme extender card cage that is connected to a Sun4/330, 33 MHz,
  15. and has some custom VME slave cards plugged into it. The VME slave
  16. cards are nothing fancy, they just return a DTACK when addressed.
  17. This setup worked fine under SunOS Release 4.0.  When we recently
  18. upgraded the software to SunOS Release 4.1.2, the machine refuses
  19. to boot up and panics with a "memory address alignment" when checking
  20. file systems with the VME slave cards powered on. If I remove the 
  21. slave cards, the machine boots fine. What is it in Release 4.1.2
  22. that checks the VME bus during power up that was not in previous
  23. releases?
