- I have recently aqcuired an Archive 2150eS 1/4" tape drive and would
- like to add it to my SPARC 2. I wasn't lucky enough to acquire the
- tape drive with manuals. Will this tape work with a Sun 2 running
- SunOS 4.1.3?
-
- ASSuming the tape will work with the Sun, I set the SCSI on the tape to 4 and
- added SCSI tape 1 back into my kernel (at SCSI 4) and gen'ed a new
- kernel. When the machine powers on, it hits the tape, but hangs during
- the middle of booting after it finds esp0 at SBus .... The next
- device would be my disk. The machine only has one disk drive and no
- other SCSI devices that would be conficting. I did a probe-scsi from the
- monitor and it sees the disk and tape and identifies the tape with the
- proper name. The machine is still getting to the disk okay because it is
- loading the kernel.
-
- Any steps in the process that I forgot to do? Any clues as to why the
- machine won't boot with the tape? The machine will boot without the tape
- so the kernel is okay.
-
- Any help is greatly appreciated.
