  11. The host machine for the Info-Stratus mailing list, MIKE.LRC.EDU, will
  12. undergo some changes in its configuration in the near future.
  13.  
  14. An attempt will be made this weekend to upgrade the mail-transfer-agent
  15. software.  We shall try to minimize impact on the mailing list and on
  16. the news/mail gateway, but odd behavior may show up anyway.  We believe
  17. that this upgrade will repair the mail-based archive and file servers.

  19. Also, the regional TCP/IP network in North Carolina is undergoing
  20. reconfiguration.  Sometime within the next few weeks, the Internet
  21. Protocol (IP) address of MIKE.LRC.EDU will be changed.  Again, we
  22. shall try to minimize impact on Info-Stratus, but there may be some
  23. finite period of confusion in the various network name servers around
  24. the globe.  It is possible that some Info-Stratus mail could fail to
  25. be delivered during the confusion, and some articles might not be
  26. properly gatewayed to "comp.sys.stratus".  Please bear with us.

  28. Further off is a possible upgrade to the TCP/IP software on MIKE.LRC.EDU.
  29. In theory, such an upgrade will be have no effect on the mailing list or
  30. on the mail/news gateway.  In theory.  :-)
