  14.     I regularly use an sgi machine which is mainly used for cpu
  15. intensive graphics applications.  My jobs run in the background and
  16. number crunch.

  18.     Even when I nice my processes as much as possible, there is a
  19. noticable drop in performance in interactive work.  Is there any way
  20. to eliminate this?  I could envision the swapper swapping out
  21. processes when an interactive job is running;  is this configurable?
