  11. Perhaps this is a bug in the ImageVision Library. If you load a grey
  12. scale Tiff into imgworks, and save it as an SGI file, one gets garbage
  13. out. imgworks seems to consider it is working with a colour dataset rather
  14. than monochrome, as various operations behave in a bizare manner. Infact
  15. loading and manipulating the grey scale image, after working with a colour
  16. tiff, causes imgworks to crash.

  18. A workaround is to restart before using the grey scale image, immediately
  19. use the function 'Colour to Greyscale' which seems to invert the image (?),
  20. then 'Invert' to return to normal. From then on its OK, and recognised as
  21. Grey Scale. Saveing as an SGI image then works correctly....
