- digital and computer graphics technology. We are seeking a senior
- systems/network administrator to manage and grow our networks for
- our increasing high-volume data requirements. As part of the ILM team,
- you'll have the opportunity to work with very creative and imaginative
- people in a fast-paced production environment. You'll be a member of a
- small Computer Services staff with broad support responsibilities.

- Responsibilities:

- As the lead systems/network administrator you will provide
- direction and leadership for network planning and optimization.

- Your day-to-day activities will include:

- o Research, evaluate and recommend emerging network technology.

- o Analyze troubleshoot and optimize production networks.
-
- o Plan, analyze and tune system performance of our SGI and Sun workstations.

- o Communicate with project and department managers to ensure network
- and computing systems are performing adequately.

- o Develop procedures and programs to manage installation and administration
- of all workstation software (OS, graphics-specific, and other software).

- o Define, improve, develop and monitor data backup of our
- high-volume data.

- o Troubleshoot software problems.

- o Assist with workstation installation, configuration and administration.

- Qualifications:
- ===============
- o BS in Computer Science (or 4 years related experience in place
- of educational requirement).

- o Minimum 4 years experience in system and network administration,
- preferably in a large workstation environment including SGI and
- Sun systems.

- o Demonstrated understanding of networking fundamentals and
- state-of-the-art technology including: TCP/IP, network analysis,
- routers, NFS, FDDI and broadband networks.

- o Working knowledge of UNIX (System VR4, c-shell, awk) and C.

- o Ability to work in fast-paced production environment.

- o Strong verbal and written communication skills.
